Dear Southern Region Board Members
and Club Presidents;
Soroptimist’s new “Living Their
Dreams” brochure recently
received the 18th Annual APEX
Awards for Publication
Excellence in the marketing and
public relations category. The
award is based on excellence in
graphic design, editorial
content and the success of the
entry in achieving overall
communications effectiveness and
excellence. The APEX is an
annual competition for writers,
editors, publications staff, and
business and nonprofit
communicators.
The “Living Their Dreams”
brochure (as well as the newly
designed Women’s Opportunity
Awards brochure) also received
the 2006 Communicator Awards’
Award of Distinction. The
Communicator Awards is an
international awards competition
that recognizes outstanding work
in the communication field, and
the Award of Distinction is
awarded for projects that exceed
industry standards in design or
communication skills.
In addition, the “Living Their
Dreams” brochure has received
high praise from other
individuals, including the staff
of Vital Voices and former First
Lady Barbara Bush. The brochure
has been extremely popular with
members since its initial
printing in September 2005. To
date, approximately 45,000
English brochures and 10,000
Japanese brochures are in
circulation.
