Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas COunty

Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas County is located in Pinellas County, Florida which includes Clearwater, Largo, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs & St Petersburg. We are on the west coast of Florida . Beautiful white beaches are in our county.

We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month except for December & June. In December we hold a Christmas Party. In June we join with the other 3 clubs of our area for a joint installation of officers. Our meetings are held at the Club Room of Pierce 100 Condo. We have a social hour from 5:30 until 6:30. The meeting begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Our president covers correspondence , classifications & other items during salad. We generally have an interesting program that begins during dessert. This is followed by a business meeting. The cost of the meal is $10.00. You are invited to join us if you are interested in becoming a member or are a visiting Soroptimist from another area. .

THE WAY WE WERE!! 1999 - 2000
Pat & Paula attended the Leadership Retreat at Camp Weed in Live Oak, Florida.
Our service project, "The PACE girls graduation party won the Governor's District Service Award at the District meeting in September.
Alice & Marie attended a Women on the Way Appreciation Luncheon. We supported Women on the Way with monthly donations of toiletries.
Many of us attended a fantastic Halloween party at Marsha's. It was a fund raiser sponsored by Marsha, Minnie & Betsi.
We held our annual Christmas party at Pat's house.
In January, we changed our meeting place to the club room at Terry Sue's & Marlene's condo. We have 3 volunteers a month ordering & bringing the food. The cost to each member is $10 per month.
We donated wrapped Valentine gifts to the Women's Resource Center.
Cathy chaired a successful Women Honoring Women at The Carlouel Yacht Club in March. Our member, Pat, was honored in the business catagory.
We lunched with a member of our Friendship link club, Nagano, Japan, while she & her sister visited Clearwater.
We awarded $800 to Sheryl L. Grimes, our Women's Opportunity Award winner.
We attended the Intercity Meeting of our club with the Altrusa Club, Pilot Club & Zonta Club. This yearly meeting has been going on since 1979. Zonta was the hostess club this year.
We were represented at Southern Region Conference in Tuscaloosa by Paula & Pat. Our own Dorothy was selected by Southern Region to become a member of the Laurel Society. Paula was elected District Two Director.
We again sponsored a graduation party for the PACe girls. Minnie obtained Busch Garden tickets from her boss, Republic Bank. Pat brought gifts of jewelry from Belleair Coins.
We joined our sister clubs in the Tampa Bay Area at our installation luncheon in June. This was hosted by the Tampa Bay Club in downtown Tampa.
