Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas COunty

Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas County is located in Pinellas County, Florida which includes Clearwater, Largo, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs & St Petersburg. We are on the west coast of Florida . Beautiful white beaches are in our county.

We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month except for December & June. In December we hold a Christmas Party. In June we join with the other 2 clubs of our area for a joint installation of officers. Our meetings are held at the Club Room of Pierce 100 Condo. We have a social hour from 5:30 until 6:00. The meeting begins promptly at 6:00 PM. Our president covers correspondence , classifications & other items during salad. We sometimes have an interesting program that begins during dessert. But many times our business meeting fills our time. The cost of the meal is $12.00. You are invited to join us if you are interested in becoming a member or are a visiting Soroptimist from another area. .

SI of LAKE COUNTY hosted the Southern Region District 11 annual meeting, Sept. 26th & 27th,

BETSI LEWIS's presentation and display of our participation in Women on the Way won the District II Nomination for the Governor's Service Award.
NANCY CUSICKwas reelected to serve as a Board member of the Ruby Lee Minar Scholarship Memorial Fund, Inc.
Pat Arbutine, Nancy Cusick, Martha Gray, Paula Harvey, Susan Kinney, and Betsi Lewis attended the event

We celebrated our 35th Anniversary with a Champagne reception at our October meeting. Past Governor of Southern Region and a member of the Holiday Isles club was present. Doris was a member when our club was chartered by her club. Our own charter member, Alice Schutzendorf was also present. We presented the history of our club in scrapbooks, newspapers, photographs and our original charter document.

Our annual Women Honoring Women Brunch was a great success.

We presented funds to our Woman's Opportunity Award winner, our Violet Richardson Award Winner and to "Women on the Way" at St. Petersburg College.

A Christmas time family was adopted.

Valentine gifts were given to the gals of Women on the Way.

Domestic Abuse brochures were distributed.

Alice & Marie donated numerous hours to "Women on the Way".

2 Members donated their time to the Clearwater Jazz Festival.

We presented our "Women on the Way " program & our newsletter at Region Conference in Tampa. We won third place for the newsletter. We also had the second most members present.
Our member, Betsi Lewis, was elected Southern Region Secretary.

We hosted the Joint Installation Banquet for our Tampa Bay area clubs.

We strengthened our ranks with 3 transfer members. We also inducted a brand new member, Karen Curry.
